In a cooperation between EpiHelp AG and the University of Munich, Andreas Attenberger has completed work on a diploma thesis about online health communities. One of the topics the thesis dealt with was finding adequate strategies for attracing user interest.

Furthermore, using so-called Games With A Purpose (GWAP) a method was devised which actively involves EpiHelp users into the collection and validation of medical information. Possible applications are, for example, the enrichment of existing medical data with semantic relationships.

EpiHelp AG is now looking for partners in this area to continue research in the context of a dissertation. Possible topics can be the use of Semantic Web technology for medical applications like electronic health records (EHR) or drawing meaningful results from patient data that is available either on- or offline.
